906 Broadway

11206 Brooklyn

Saturday April 25th @ Palisades ☰ AdHoc x Golden Ratio Presents x idk/ DFA RECORDS present ☰ Palisades 1-Year Anniversary ☰ Container ☰ Eric Copeland ☰ Sasha Jan Rezzie TIX Container is the noisy techno project of Ren Schofield, now based in his hometown of Providence, RI. For a time Schofield was living in Nashville, TN where he became involved with the local noise scene, performing and recording dozens of cassettes as God Willing and running the label I Just Live Here. Around 2009-2010 Schofield substituted his guitar for a 909 and began creating minimal techno under the Container moniker. In the past five years, the project has seen several cassettes, two full-length LPs both named LP, and two four-track EPs, including last year’s critically acclaimed Adhesive EP. Trippy dance music on the surface, turbulent noise project at it’s core, Container is for those who want to hop around and get their head split open at the same time. Also from Providence, Eric Copeland is the frontman for psychedelic noise band Black Dice, with whom he gained a reputation as one concerned with creating a chaotic template of surrealistic collage of noise styles. Putting out his spacier first solo LP Hermaphrodite in 2007, he has since evolved his sound into a sample-based carnival of funk-filled quirky non-dance music. Like Black Dice, it’s chaotic but has little if anything to do with rock music, closer to techno but just barely. With 2013’s full-length Joke In The Hole and last year’s two EPs Logo My Ego and Ms Pretzel on DFA, Copeland continues his vision of taking the pinball muzak aesthetic into your house parties and onto the dance floor. Woosazi is the project of consisting of Body Actualized co-founder Jan Woo, SILK Rhodes' Sasha Desree, and Brooklyn nightlife archivist and culture creator Rezzie Avissar of Weird Magic. | Palisades | 906 Broadway @ Stockton | Bushwick, Brooklyn JMZ-Myrtle Bway | midnight | $12 | all ages Join our events group AdHoc...

Contact: --- Presentation Description: In this extraordinary presentation, Jamie Janover will guide you through Nassim Haramein’s lifelong exploration into the geometry of space-time, which has resulted in an exciting comprehensive Unification theory based on a new solution to Einstein’s Field Equations. Haramein’s series of groundbreaking scientific papers, including his award-winning paper “The Schwarzschild Proton” and recent "Quantum Gravity and the Holographic Mass", propose solutions to the long-sought quest for a Unified Field Theory, revolutionizing our current understanding of physics and our place in the universe. This groundbreaking theory, which incorporates torque, Coriolis effects and the nonlinear mathematics of fractal systems, has been delivered to the scientific community through peer-reviewed papers and presentations at international physics conferences. Haramein’s research into a variety of fields including theoretical physics, cosmology, quantum mechanics, biology, chemistry and ancient civilizations has led to a coherent understanding of the fundamental structure of the Universe, an in-depth change in our current perception of physics and consciousness and creates an exciting unified tapestry of space-time which may prove to be one of the most important scientific, philosophical and technological discoveries of our time. Nassim Haramein is the Director of Research at The Resonance Project, a 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to the exploration of unification principles and their implications in our world today. The foundation is actively developing a research park where science, sustainability, green technology and permaculture come together...

9:30 Club

815 V St NW

20001 Washington

U Street Music Hall presents Duke Dumont at 9:30 Club 10:30 PM / $20 / All Ages Tickets: Duke Dumont Will Eastman DUKE DUMONT Before 2012 Duke Dumont was known as a ‘producer’s producer’. He was the name on a 12” record the DJ knew to reach for when he wanted to please the crowd, without them knowing who had constructed the mesmerising sonic confection they were dancing too. In 2012, two EPs on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings (with whom Duke has had a long standing relationship) changed all that. ‘For Club Play Vol. 1 & 2’ offered up sweet ecstatic deep house & UK bass cuts that have united people across the spectrum of music, from early club adopters like Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Diplo, Martyn and Jackmaster to Fearne Cotton on daytime Radio 1, Trevor Nelson on 1xtra and even podcasts by Tiesto and Avicci. On some nights in Duke’s beloved Fabric London, you would hear the anthemic ‘The Giver’ being played in all three rooms at the same time. Duke’s early career was mentored by Switch (last sighted producing for Beyoncé) and he made his name as the ‘go-to’ man to remake a pop song for the dance floor (Lily Allen and Bat For Lashes were notable clients). In 2011, he moved out of London to the countryside (Hertfordshire, where his studio overlooks a forest) to focus on his original material. Synthesizing his influences from techno to UK garage and house he brought back goodies from this zen-like exile. ‘For Club Play Only Vol. 1’ was released in April 2012 on Turbo. With ‘Street Walker’ and ‘Thunderclap’ on there, it alerted the heads to the Duke movement and received support from the likes of Jamie Jones and Simian Mobile Disco. Remixes for AlunaGeorge and Santigold quickly followed, then in August ‘For Club Play Only Vol.2’ featuring ‘No Money Blues’ and ‘The Giver’ made Duke...
